Repeat Prescriptions

Patients on long term medication can order repeat prescriptions in a number of ways:

  • Online - This is the simplest and our preferred method. Order online using the NHS App. Simply complete a short one-off registration to sign-up. It's quick, easy and secure!
  • In person - hand the right-hand side of your prescription in at the front desk with the items you require ticked. Download our Repeat medication request slip to complete at home and hand into us, or collect the request slip from reception. Alternatively clearly write your name, address, date of birth and the items you are requesting on a sheet of paper and hand it into the surgery.
  • By post - post it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you.
  • By fax - to 0151 296 7122.
  • We are unable to take repeat prescription requests over the telephone except for those patients who are deemed appropriate by their doctor.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account. Please note it may take up to 72 hours if there are any queries.

If you have any queries relating to a medication please call the surgery on (0151) 256 9800 after 10am and you will be put through to our helpful care navigators or prescribing team.

Non-Repeat Medication

If an item does not appear on your online ordering screen it is because it is not listed as a current repeat item for you. You may still request such items but please note your request may be rejected at first as we may need to contact you for a review and discuss your request.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be reviewed by a GP, Pharmacist or Practice Nurse. If we need to discuss your medication with you, we will contact you to arrange this.
