Test Results
Last Updated: Friday, 01 November 2024To help us manage your condition we may ask you to go for a blood or other test. This is generally for review purposes to try to maintain your health. A blood test usually involves taking a blood sample from a blood vessel in your arm.
Blood samples from children are most commonly taken from the back of the hand whereby their hand will be anaesthetised (numbed) with a special cream before the sample is taken.
The invitation we send you for will include details of where to go to have your test and how to collect the forms you'll need to take with you. If you’ve not received this booking link, you can click here or call (0151) 285 4548. If your child needs a test, please contact Alder Hey on (0151) 228 4811.
Urine and Other Specimens
If you have been asked to provide a sample to the surgery including a urine sputum, we ask that this is brought into the surgery and placed in our collection box before midday as this is the time they are collected each weekday. The only exception to this is the FIT test which can be dropped off at any time.
Please ensure all samples are labelled both on the form and on the actual sample container.
