NHS Weight Loss Injections

Various news outlets are currently running reports that weight loss injections will now be available on the NHS via your GP from today. Prescribing of medications at a local level are governed by ICBs, in our case Cheshire and Merseyside ICB. They have issued the following guidelines which stops the prescribing of these medications for weight loss purposes:

As a practice we are happy to support our patients who are trying to lose weight through various services such as LOSS, but until locally approved we cannot currently prescribe these medications.
